I started running again 3 weeks after my son was born and didn't run a race until just before he turned 4 months. And it was tough! Good for you for getting out there and doing the marathon!Felice Devinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18038461010518039172noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5469780206027563404.post-3644491987453193162009-03-10T12:36:00.000-04:002009-03-10T12:36:00.000-04:00I'd say 2 weeks out is fine. With a quick rampup yo...I'd say 2 weeks out is fine.

With a quick rampup you need to give somewhere and I'm thinking that would be it. But when we do make them, we use very similar ingredients - I don't add milk though. Spinach, Kale, Romaine lettuce - all good! I think the berries really counteract any green color that could be there. More often than not we end up with brown!!

Greta way to start the day though!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5469780206027563404.post-70421415234663505802009-03-10T09:07:00.000-04:002009-03-10T09:07:00.000-04:00i just came across your blog and your baby is prec...i just came across your blog and your baby is precious! congrats. i'm expecting my first late september and trying to keep up with some running. it seems like you were successful with it. any advice for running while pregnant?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5469780206027563404.post-67852908240895725752009-03-10T07:16:00.000-04:002009-03-10T07:16:00.000-04:00Everyone's given you good advice already, so I won...Everyone's given you good advice already, so I won't even bother throwing in my worthless two cents. Look at those legs!!!

As training goes, I would err on the side of caution and do the long run (whatever it ends up being) three weeks out. In preparing for my longest race ever (30K in three weeks) I've adjusted my plan to give myself a bit of a taper for two weeks. Initially I had planned on increasing my long run by 2k every week right up to the Sunday before the race, but now I think I will do a shorter run one week out and be happy with getting a bit of extra rest prior to this milestone race.

Then again, you are a seasoned marathoner and know better than I ever will what works for you. Either way, I hope you have a great time in both training and racing!Vavahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06695435090921005081noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5469780206027563404.post-48125643558074985132009-03-09T16:02:00.000-04:002009-03-09T16:02:00.000-04:00Looks like your little guy has runner's legs to me...Looks like your little guy has runner's legs to me...If you do a 20 miler, I'd recommend doing it three weeks out and then the 12 and the 8Jess https://www.blogger.com/profile/04319493454447862771noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5469780206027563404.post-33931134891720685072009-03-09T15:54:00.001-04:002009-03-09T15:54:00.001-04:00This comment has been removed by the author.Abbyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09004677338036439657noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5469780206027563404.post-6414454612415005952009-03-09T15:54:00.000-04:002009-03-09T15:54:00.000-04:00Looks like a good plan to me.I have 'down' weeks M...Looks like a good plan to me.

I have 'down' weeks March 22 and April 5 (my building long runs are on opposite weeks), so if you wanted a partner for your long runs, I'd definitely be up for joining you for some or all of each of them.

I may have to try one of these famed smoothies this week...Abbyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09004677338036439657noreply@blogger.com
