So I spent the morning working on tabs. I googled it and played around with code. It's a work in progress. Thank you for the comments on word press / blogger. Let me know what you think. One thing that I want to fix is how the picture is atop of every section (Nick- so that you have to scroll to get to the content) and I am still updating the content.
Thank you everyone!
Thank you everyone!
Thank you also for the feedback on the bake sale. The most common thing was the make it longer. It definitely would have helped and I wanted to extend it past Monday, but also wanted to be fair to everyone who made a bid on Monday. 4 boxes of purefit bars - retail $130 - went for $30. That was when I knew it was a fatal mistake to have only one day. 3 jars of peanut butter went for $27 but shipping was $20. Next time, I will know! I also learned alot about shipping, after spending around $80 on it. Check out USPS's flat rate boxes is all that I can say (after the fact)! Needless to say, I ended up raising a great amount of money because of you, and am super appreciative. I am $396.80 from raising $5000 (my personal goal). Some of you have asked me to post the link to donate so here it is! Thank you so much one and all - and especially the generous bakers!
I took Nick swimming today and it thundered outside and they cleared the indoor pool. Really? Never heard of that before!
I think the tabs are a good idea and can't wait to see the finished project. (I hate how your work-in-progress is all exposed when you're working on a blog. I feel like I'd be caught half-dressed if someone happened to stop by in the middle of me changing my background or something, lol. It's not like a book or a project or something that you can just reveal the final draft. I don't mind seeing other people's work in progress though.)
ReplyDeleteDang, that's such a cute kid.
ReplyDeleteI had the same thoughts about switching to wordpress for tabs (and more sophisticated design), but I'm too lazy -- interested to see how yours evolves :)
ReplyDeleteI was a lifeguard throughout HS and the concern with indoor pools wasn't about lightning striking the water directly, it's that the metal plumbing and wiring could be targets. I had just gone into the locker room after closing down one night when the pool was zapped -- freaky. Still frustrating when my local pool gets shut down every other day though.
Nick always makes me smile! He has such beautiful eyes.
ReplyDeleteI'm digging the new format!
ReplyDeletecan't wait to see the finished product.
ReplyDeleteglad you learned something from the bake sale, you'll be a good resource for others and of course yourself in the future!
Nick is flipping adorable & his big blue eyes melt my heart! :)
ReplyDeletei love the tabs.. i got your email and intend on playing tonight.. can i make the tabs be at the bottom or do they have to be at the top?? :)
Great job raising money for a charity! Doing such a thing intimidates the hell out of me. And I'm impressed you figured out the links. Formatting on the blog intimidates the hell out of me as well.
ReplyDeleteMade the granola....it rocks! I used a recipe from Emeril on foodtv.com.
ReplyDeleteAbout the tabs - you're going to have to teach me.....i've tried other blogger sites and didn't like them (wordpress). I remember you asked me how to do this in class.....glad you finally figured it out! Now - come teach me and my students!!!!!

He's such a cutie!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad the bake sale was a success overall. It takes time to perfect these things - I'm sure the next one will be even better!
Looks good! And, I too have never heard of closing an indoor pool because of thunder!
ReplyDeleteTabs look good!!
ReplyDeleteAnd what a cute picture of Nick...so cute!
Nick is getting cuter by the min! Don't be too discouraged by the bakesale, it was a neat way to participate!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see the new formate (although, I like this one, too!)
Have a great day! :)
ohhh love the tabs!! I will have to play around one of these days :)
