It's back!

Almond butter, that is! Either I was having too much of it - I call this *marinated mushroom syndrome* (I used to eat marinated mushrooms out of the jar in college and got 2 huge containers of them as costco and now I can't look at them) - or pregnancy turned me off from almond butter! Well, after seeing Mae's crunchy almond butter w/ sunflowers and flaxseeds, I knew I was ready for some! Delicious! What has exited your life due to marinated mushroom syndrome??

On a poopy note, another thing that is back is my lack of sleep and sinus infection. What the H!!!
I am so miserable w/o sleeping.   I start to feel useless and have no energy to workout, so it is just terrible. I'm trying to take it day to day.   Yesterday I was dying to go swimming - it felt GREAT but the rest of my day was shot. Today I really tried to hop on the treadmill and lasted less than a mile walking and just over 10 minutes. It was sad!

I think I quit running. We'll see when I feel better, but for now it's not in the cards.  I think it will help motivate when I start up again since I'm not running till the end this time.

I enjoyed the comments from my last post - I think I'm going epidural all the way. It was great last time except feeling something like fluid in my spine, but I could totally feel my legs the whole time and was able to get up shortly after - is that normal?

Also - if you are on the market for a treadmill, and don't mind sifting through ads, here is a site with treadmill reviews you can check out.   It's nice they are all in one place, but the ads can be annoying to bypass.

  1. Glad you're liking the almond butter again! I tend to develop aversions to foods easily if I overdo it!

You're doing the best you can with exercise right now and you're doing great!

  2. Almond butter is the best. My favorite is from Trader Joe's and also has roasted flaxseed in it. However, they are out and say they won't get more until the fall. : (

  3. Sorry about the lack of sleep! You're almost there (easy to say, I know). Great job swimming and getting on the treadmill!
The almond butter looks great - I've actually never tried or made it, but I'm planning on it soon!

  4. haha!! gotta love the pregnancy love/hate relationships with food ;-)

Enjoy your break off from running! I'm sure the few weeks off will do you good and you'll be energized to hit it hard.

  5. As for the sinus infection....are you eating a lot of sugar? Try to lay off all sugar and eat lots of raw garlic or get a garlic supplement at the health food store.

  6. Don't worry about the running - the break really does refresh you. Think of the x-training as getting you used to training for different disciplines!

So sorry your sinuses are playing up - v painful. My nose has been v inflamed (and sore) for a lot of my pregnancy but it hasn't resulted in an infection so I really feel for you.

I've been all about avacado throughout. Veggies were hideous in T1, fine in T2 and while I can stomach them now they are def not my favourite thing (fill up my tum too much!). Choc soya milk - yum yum yum! Couldn't even look at a piece of fruit in T1 but happily chomping on fruit in T2 and 3.

    Take care.

  8. Running can happen later; now babies are happening. I hope you're not too hot in this summer insanity going on outside!

I have not thought about almond butter in so long but had the urge the other day to make it... I'm still deciding if I should act or not

  10. I probably ate 1/4 cup of almond butter straight out of the jar the other day. Or as I like to call it, "the $5 snack that was worth every penny!"

  11. The lack of sleep sucks; hope you feel better soon!

I had pretty good control of my legs with my epidural and could get up and walk afterward as well. I would totally do an epidural again. Some of my friends complained that the epidural itself was painfula nd awkward to get, but I didn't think it was bad at all.

  13. I think you're doing great! And am glad to hear that your almond butter craziness is back - I can't live without it! Tee hee...
Epidural all the way baby! I already know, I should probably just be knocked out for the whole thing, I'm a baby with pain.
Give yourself a running break, you might find next week you have the urge/craving and then go for it! Wow, 37 days...you're almost done!
