How does it stack up?
Silk's unsweetened still includes evaporated cane juice - which is somewhat misleading since it says unsweetened.
1 cup has 60 calories, 2.5g fat including good fats!, 8g carbs, 7g sugar, and 1g protein.
1 cup of skim milk has 90 calories, 0g fat, 13g carbs, 13g sugars and 9g protein.
1 cup of blue diamond unsweetened has 40 calories, 3g fat, 2g carbs, 0 sugars, and 1g protein
I'm not sure why they put the sweetener (cane juice) in there, and my only wish for almond milk is more protein, but comparing Silk's new line to all of the other almond milks I have tried - it is definitely my favorite by far! I find Blue Diamond's sweetened to be way too sweet, but the unsweetened to be tasteless and thin. I will definitely purchase this. $2.99 a container.

Sounds good - I like almond milk as an alternative to soya or rice, but I honestly don't know what I would have done without my alpro soya choc milk throughout my pregnancy - calcium, fluids, protien, carbs, omegas and choc fix - it has saved me when in need of a midnight snack, at work during first trimester when I couldn't face anything except that and even now if I'm in doubt about what I can face I'll plump for that - nice and cold is the best!
