WINNER - CEP socks! and florida

We've just returned from a 5 day trip to Florida - excuse the lack of commenting and posting - I'll catch up on that soon. Vacation! It was great! Every morning Nick and I went for a jog which became a walk on the beach. The position the baby is sitting in - I could not run most days! I still logged my walking miles - which took so much longer than jogging!

The CEP giveaway was so popular! Hopefully I'll be able to do it again soon. Thank you for your interest :) The winner is #87 -  Karen !
You have 48 hours to contact me Karen via email tosha25italia at yahoo.
If anyone knows how to number the comments -  let me know!

I wore the socks on the plane - had no leg cramps - though it was a short flight!  The flights were the hardest part! We went with Bill's parents/my inlaws and it made it so nice. I definitely felt that I got to relax. Nick had a fabulous time on the beach, eating the sand and in the pool, swimming!!

While we were there, another baby was there of the same age who had been taking swim lessons and could float on his back on his own and swim to the wall (a short distance). I've been taking Nick on my own, but I don't know how to get him to do those things. Does anyone know a good place for swim lessons nationally that teaches them how to swim young?  The little boy was from Florida so he probably swims year round but I want Nick to know how to swim on his own!

  1. I'm jealous of the beach vacation! Our pool is ready to swim in now, but it's not warm enough :-(

  2. Oh that looks really fun - definitely could go some beach and pool time in the sun. I know what you mean about the jogging - my baby has moved quite a lot lower (allowing me to eat a little more than rabbit portions!) and it does make for the lower ab muscles getting quite tired -ok while hiking but running leaves them quite sore. I haven't run for week or so now as we were on hol hiking and then being back to work this week has been quite a shock to the system - hoping to get some stuff done over the weekend. I log my miles too no matter the form - swimming, running, hiking, gym as it is all moving your butt!

Had cramp myself for the first proper time last night (had close calls that I've been able to prevent from happpening). I must have stretched in my sleep or something and OHHHHHHH! Totally put the fear of God into Al as my screaming woke him up and he was like what's wrong? Where does it hurt reaching for my belly only to be told it's my leg!!!!! It's left my leg quite bruised!!! So sore!

Take care, hope the un[packing isn't too horrid - I always hate that part!

  4. Glad you had a great trip. I've had the most success w/ my kids by spending lots of time w/ them in the pool on my own. My favorite technique is to have them stand on pool steps and swim out to me. They both were on swim teams by ages 4 and 5, so I'm a believer!

  9. Florida looks like fun - especially for Nick to get to swim!

I KNOW my compression socks are making the trip with me back to the east coast, they should make the flight home much better.

  10. When our sons were pre-school (not sure what age, but I think our youngest was around 1 year old) we took them the the YMCA. I think the program was called Water Babies back then, but that was a looooong time ago. Well worth it -- when we bought our current house with an in-ground pool and our youngest was still in 3rd grade they were both very good swimmers and we had no hesitation about having a pool.
