oops

There was this one day in October that I was very crampy and spotting, but it only lasted a day - that was apparently a warning sign and my period - but I didn't think much of it or track anything. 12 weeks later and here is Nick's little sibling due July 24th - which happens to be Bill's 30th birthday! Happy Birthday Bill!

Yep, they'll be pretty close in age and since I already look like I aged 10 years from this year, I'll be pretty gorgeous by the end of 2010! A little earlier than we would have planned, and I'm still adjusting to this whole thing - in the end it should be fun (in about 10 years)?

I had a FANTASTIC swim this morning. We had to go for the ultrasound so I didn't have to get out early, and I got in the whole 3300 yards and swam in a slower lane. It is so much better swimming back in the slow lane, going first and being able to work on my stroke. In the fast lane, I was swimming like a splashing machine and my stroke was all over the place. It was horrendous and not enjoyable. I think I can get back into swimming.

  1. Congrats again and you know, it could be worse. I have a friend here who is due with her 3rd in July. Her oldest is Jackson's age (will be 2 in Feb) and her 2nd will be 1 in May. Glad to hear your swimming is going well. Do you enjoy the swimming more than the running at the moment?

  10. Congrats! Mine are 17 months apart too. There are pros and cons, which you will figure out as you go, and it's supposed to pay off once the youngest turns 3 and they can play together. Look at it this way - you'll get even better workouts pushing a double jogger!

  11. That is so exciting!

Yeah, that explains feeling like poo! I've just emerged from my first trimester too (the reason I ended up following your blog was coz I was so ill for 2 months solid that I needed to find something that made feel vaguely close to sports and gave me hope that it would still be there after babba.)

My babba bean is due exactly 1 month before yours! If you would like to follow my progress, inspired by your blog I've started my own at:

Wile I'm commenting I'd also like to add that you look in great shape and I can't believe you did a marathon about 10 millisecs after delivery. Don't forget to be kind to yourself!

You will love it later on when the little one is about 18 months old...trust me. My 3rd boy is a couple days older than yours...he was born on 1-30-09.

  46. How exciting!! Just think, though they will be a bit of a handful at first, you will get through the whole diaper thing all at one time! And they may be really close friends as such close siblings.

    Congrats!
