Yoga

Last night Nick went to bed late - he has a cold and has been having a hard time drinking his bottles and doesn't want much food. Well he was starving at bedtime and went to bed around 8:30 (usual is 7/7:30). He slept in till 8:15 so I layed in bed and decided it was a yoga/off day and slept in till 7:30. Nice!! I am so tight. I have not done yoga in a long time - probably since the summer which is VERY bad! I used to go to a class at my old gym every Monday which was good for me, but we switched to the Y. I'm thinking about going back to the old gym, I loved that class! I am horrible about stretching and it is so key! I did yoga and some Jillian today and called it a day. It was fantastic to sleep in!

How often do you do yoga? Do you stretch every run/workout?

  1. I am spending some time every day stretching and I'm really hoping it loosens up my hamstrings!

  2. That really needs to be one of my goals. I am horrible at stretching. I do yoga and pilates, but you would laugh if you saw it. I am not the most coordinated one out there :-)

  4. Congrats on sleeping in! I love yoga, too, but I've also let it slip.

  5. I do yoga off and on. If the kiddos cooperate.

I am not great a streching in the winter months but otherwise after my runs I usually do strech.

I love to get to sleep in a little bit!

  6. Recently, it seems as if I have been able to get in 30 minutes of yoga 2-3 times a week! I love yoga!

  8. I try to do yoga once a week but it is prolly not enough. I stretch after runs but I am still pretty inflexible.

  9. I just signed up for Yoga at the Audubon Y and start this Thursday. It is basically one more thing to try for my hip. In the past I have stretched very sporadically at home. It is so hard to stretch consistently without a class or video.

  10. I stretch after every run but have always been pretty slack about yoga. I love it, but it's always the first workout to get dropped when I get short on time. Since being pregnant, I try to get in a yoga workout at least once a week though.

  11. I feel so out of the loop! I have tried yoga a few times, but I am so uncordinated and have no balance that it is just a struggle! Good job and lucky you for sleeping in! Hope Nick feels better :)

  14. I picked up a prenatal yoga class when I was pregnant and loved it. I swore I would continue and I never did. I would absolutely get back into it again with a 2nd baby though ... I'm pretty sure it had a lot to do with my easy pregnancy and delivery!

  15. At the moment I am doing Pilates 2 times a week so that when it comes to deliver babba I am not as stiff as a board. Whenever I do a run or other exercise I try to do 5 - 10 mins stretching before and after as I would be injured more than i could run! I've done yoga classes so a lot of my stretches included yoga poses. I love yoga as it is so calming, but money is a little tight at mo so no classes for me.
