Hi my name is Natalie....

and I'm a coupon addict. I've spent alot of time this week cutting coupons and making my trips to the stores.  Last night I took envelopes and put coupons for each store and cut out parts of the ad so I know what the deals are for the week. It's an addiction! I'm looking forward to seeing how much I can save and taking this to a new level, haha!

Group run this morning
I did not want to go this morning to the group run... I wanted to just hang out with the fam but knew I wouldn't get my run in at a good pace on my own.  I think my last long run with the group was just ok.. it was a snow covered day and I ended up running slower than I wanted to. I met in the parking lot and still felt so-so. I started off running with some older people that were running a good pace, conversation was just ok. We finished 6+ hilly miles (the inner loop at Valley Forge) in about 52 minutes - the pace was good but I knew I should be going a bit slower if I wanted to get in 12 miles.

Then we met back at the lot and more people were there to run. I didn't want to take very long water break so I saw two guys not too much older looking than me heading to the trail to continue running and shouted out to them - "hey guys!" How much are you planning to do? What pace? They were doing 12 miles in the high 8s - sounded perfect to me so I tagged along. They were great running partners - even paced and we had good conversation about kids and running.  At the end when I usually want to slow down and I fade out, one of the guys sped up the pace and led us - we hit an 8:23 for the last mile. Nicee! It was kind of fast for a long run but it gave me confidence for the half marathon (or ten miler, going back and forth) in 3 weekends.  I just feel like I need to hire a pacer!  This put me at 32 miles for the week, highest mileage in a very long time!

Miles: 9:39, 8:30, 8:33, 8:34, 8:33, 8:38, 8:55, 9:17, 8:47, 9:00, 8:43, 8:23, (then they sprinted for about a minute and I cooled down), last 1/2 mile at 9:31 :)

I came home and my post run eat was Alex's bitter cake
topped with hemp fudge and peanut butter. YUM YUM YUM.  I devoured it - sorry no pictures!

I just dropped off the bike for a tune up and I get fitted on Tuesday.  Yeaaa!

  1. It sounds like running with people is sometimes just what I need to keep me pushing forward. I am still recovering from really pushing myself at a 10k last weekend, but I think in general a running group would be good for me. How did you find your group?

  2. Haha, I'll have to start sending you my diaper and wipe coupons. I hope to have this kid PT'd by the end of the month. I've just been lazing about it :)

Nice run today! I remember doing workouts at Valley Forge. Those hills are no joke.

  5. Cute new picture in your header. Do you follow any coupon blogs? I've seen ones that help you link up the best deals and link to online coupons too.
