holiday weekend

For the holiday we went up to CT where Bill's parents live. It was a nice trip and it is really pretty there. The weather was great! Nick slept awful while there. He was in a pack and play in our room and it just did not work well for us. We heard every movement he made and he was up in the middle of the night several times.
RUNNING
Saturday and Sunday I planned to get up at 5am to get in a long run, and I was so tired from being up already and sleeping awfully that I could not do it. On Thursday before we left I did 2 mile repeats, which was somewhat trying. Friday I took Nick for a hilly BOB workout that was superslow and did Jillian Level 3 Shred. Saturday I ran an easy 6.5 miles and Sunday a fast 4. No long run for week 2 of possible marathon training. Too much running and I'm taking off today! There aren't many options for cross training when away and running is the easiest thing to do.

EATING
I ate pretty well this weekend. I decided that nursing does not give me the ability to lose weight quicker or anything! I think I may be eating too much? A little bit here, a little bit there, trying out recipes - and it all adds up. So I am going to count those calories starting today and try to stick with it and see what I can do!

JULY is here! I cannot believe it. It is the month of the bake sale, in exactly 15 days! Get stoked and be sure to mark your calendar!

  3. I hear that about the weight supposedly coming off faster when BFing too, but it doesn't work that way for everyone. Many women find that their body keeps the last 5-10 lbs as security for milk-making, which comes right off when the baby weans.

  5. i have decided that not running does not give me the ability to eat more.. wait that was pretty common sense right..well tell my body that! Oh well the good eats have been great and now I'm really focusing again...on less baked goods but I'll be bidding anyhow!!

  10. Cute family picture. Glad you had a good trip. I wouldn't stress about the last couple of pounds. Your body is holding onto them for a reason. I think part of the reason I keep getting so sick is because I lost too much weight while breast feeding.

  11. Great pictures, when do you want a recipe. Let me know, I still haven't decided so even if there is something specific you want me to back that is fine too, I will post it on my blog. Do you want healthy or sweets?

  13. Fun weekend! As for the weight, I originally thought that I could eat whatever I wanted...hmmm, maybe eating a whole gallon of icecream in 2 days was NOT the best way to loose weight? Now that I have started paying attention to what I eat and whether or not I am hungry, some of the last few pounds have started to come off. Just focus on how you feel. I know several women that couldn't lose the last few lbs for the life of them until after they stopped BF'ing.

  15. You look awesome! Dont' stress too much! When I decided to loose weight about three years ago, I kept a log of everything that went in my mouth and the calorie count. It helped me out tons. It requires you to be honest with yourself.
Love the family pic! You all look great!

  16. You look great. Good luck with calorie counting. That scares me a lot because I think I would flip out if I knew what I really was eating. Nick is SO cute in his 4th outfit!
